Art+ Series Open Call

The ART+ Series celebrates cultural exchange and the creative and professional expressions of artists from diverse backgrounds. This program will feature 20 artists across two visual arts exhibitions and two performing arts showcases at Arts Court, Ottawa, with each selected artist receiving a $500 honorarium.

Participating in the ART+ Series is more than just an opportunity to showcase your work—it’s a complete professional experience. Selected artists will receive comprehensive support, including technical assistance, marketing, and promotional resources, to help their work shine. Our team is dedicated to making the process as seamless as possible, ensuring that each exhibition and showcase delivers vibrant and unique shows. These events aim to engage local audiences, provoke meaningful conversations, and provide high-quality cultural experiences, all while celebrating artistic and cultural diversity.

MAC-CAM is committed to fostering inclusive and safe spaces, welcoming all artists and cultural workers to participate in cultural exchanges. While submissions are open to all artists in the National Capital Region, we prioritize artists from Indigenous, Black, and People of Colour (POC) and newcomer communities.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Artists must reside in the National Capital Region (travel and per diem expenses are not included).

  • Priority will be given to artists from Equity-Deserving Groups.

  • Open to professional artists.

  • Artists who participated in the 2023 and 2024 ART+ Series are ineligible to apply.

Assessment Criteria

  • Artistic Merit: MAC-CAM values diverse cultural expressions and uses decolonial frameworks to assess artistic quality, moving beyond Western aesthetic standards.

  • Balanced Representation: Consideration will be given to artistic disciplines, geographic diversity, and Equity-Deserving Groups.

We look forward to seeing your work and fostering meaningful cultural exchanges!
