Reports to: Executive Director
Compensation: $25/hour
Contract Basis: Maximum of 280 hours per year (distributed unevenly based on programming schedule)
About MAC-CAM:
The Multicultural Artists' Coalition (MAC-CAM) is a dynamic organization committed to supporting newcomer, Indigenous, Black, POC, and other diverse artists and showcasing their work through events such as ART+ Showcases, Exhibitions, and Workshops. We strive to promote inclusion and creativity within the arts community in the National Capital Region.
Position Overview:
We are seeking a motivated and creative Part-Time Communications and Program Coordinator to join our team. The successful candidate will report directly to the Executive Director and play a pivotal role in designing and implementing communication strategies, coordinating artist programs, and supporting MAC-CAM’s initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
As Communications Coordinator:

Design engaging visuals using Canva for social media channels (Instagram, Facebook, X).

Create event pages on Wix using dynamic pages.

Manage and post content on social media platforms to maintain a strong online presence.

Assist the Executive Director in producing and distributing the monthly newsletter.

Promote ART+ Showcases, Exhibitions, and Workshops through creative campaigns.

Develop and launch campaigns to encourage artist participation and promote open calls.

Create and manage Eventbrite events to track ticketing and attendance.

Design Google Forms for workshop and program registrations.
As Program Coordinator:

Support the Executive Director in the artist selection process for ART+ Workshops and Exhibitions.

Coordinate communications with selected artists to prepare for exhibitions and shows.

Collaborate with venues to confirm event details and logistical arrangements.

Assist with the installation and setup of exhibitions.

Coordinate and manage volunteers for events.

Act as Front of House staff during events to ensure smooth operations.
Qualifications:

Strong communication and organizational skills.

Experience with Canva or similar design tools.

Proficiency with social media platforms and content management.

Familiarity with Wix, specifically creating and managing dynamic pages.

Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.

Event coordination experience is a plus.

Knowledge of the arts and multicultural communities is an asset.

Flexible schedule to accommodate programming needs.

Bilingualism (English and French) is considered an asset.
