Yasmina Proveyer

 
Born in Havana, Cuba, straight into the arms of a musical family, Yasmina has an extensive education covering all possible aspects of music, dance, and drama.  She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Theatre and a master's diploma from the Central Academy of Drama in Beijing, China. 

Immigrated to Canada in 2008 seeking a way to further develop my professional career.  For over a decade she has been actively involved in the Ottawa arts community, working not only as an artist manager for several musicians in the region but as an arts administrator and cultural connector. She has produced music shows and multidisciplinary events in the most important venues in the city.


In the summer of 2021 became the new addition to the City of Ottawa’s Cultural Funding Support Unit as a Cultural Funding Officer, taking care of many programs such as the Capacity Building, the Equity and Inclusion in the Arts fund – Seed award, the Arts Funding program (Arts Events and Small festivals, and individuals and the arts organizations under the English Theatre and English Literary arts) and the Creation and production fund for professional artists from the English Theatre and English Literary arts disciplines. She also oversees the Ottawa Book Awards in the English fiction and non-fiction categories.
