Christian Flores

Christian Flores is a musician, educator and community developer. He moved to Canada in 2006 from Santiago, Chile. One of Christian’s great passions in life is sharing his knowledge and experience with others, and he has done so as an educator and as a guitarist. He has taught himself music theory and jazz improvisation, and the technique and rhythms of Gypsy Jazz. He founded in 2007 Django Libre, a local Gypsy Jazz band and performed in many venues around Ottawa. He has studied with many mentors known in Gypsy Jazz such as Denis Chang, and Paulus Schafer.
He has performed at the Ottawa Jazz Festival, Ottawa Fringe Festival, and Merrickville Jazz Festival, among other venues.
