Celine Khairallah
Céline Khairallah is a designer, artist, and educator currently based in the Ottawa-Gatineau region. Born in Beirut in 1982, she studied advertising and art direction at ALBA -Académie Libanaise des Beaux-Arts.
In 2011, Céline launched س | SCENE, her creative studio and brand rooted in modern interpretations of Arabic calligraphy, illustration, and graphic design. She developed a unique conceptual perspective, exploring silkscreen printing for her illustrations or digitally printing them on fabrics to create useful everyday objects and art prints.
Her work explores the intersection of art-making, traditional craftsmanship, contemporary design, and innovative production methods. She produces timeless objects such as textiles, home accessories, and jewelry. Deeply inspired by Beirut’s urban landscape, Céline incorporates themes of cultural heritage and typography, often using bold forms in her creations.
Since moving to Canada in 2021, Céline has continued her artistic research while sharing her expertise as an educator and lecturer in creativity, design, and culture.

My work reflects a deep connection to cultural heritage, modern design, and the dialogue between traditional craftsmanship and contemporary techniques. I have long explored themes of identity, typography, and memory, translating them into bold, timeless creations that blend art and function.
Since relocating to Ottawa, I find myself navigating a new artistic landscape—one where the craftsmen I once collaborated with in Lebanon are no longer close at hand. This shift has led me to reimagine my practice, exploring art as a self-standing form of expression while seeking innovative ways to sustain its accessibility and functionality.
As both an educator and designer, I am committed to fostering creativity and inclusivity. I strive to make art that is meaningful and accessible to all, bridging the gap between the traditional and the contemporary, the personal and the universal.
