Duo SaDo Tango

Dance

Lavinia Salinas and Marcelo Donato are an emerging Latin American tango duo based in Ottawa, bringing together theatre, voice, and the dramatic tradition of Río de la Plata tango.

Lavinia Salinas is a professional actor with extensive experience in physical, musical, and movement-based theatre. Trained in physical theatre, collective creation, and the Stanislavski Method, Lavinia brings a strong theatrical presence, emotional precision, and embodied storytelling to the stage.

Marcelo Donato is a singer, broadcaster, and cultural communicator with over twelve years of experience promoting tango and Latin music in Canada. He is the creator and host of a long-running tango radio show on CHIN Radio Ottawa, recognized with a CEMA Award. Marcelo has performed as a singer with the Ottawa Gay Men’s Chorus and has been studying tango interpretation for the past four years with renowned Argentine artist Patricia Barone. His background as an author, set designer, and lecturer informs a deep narrative and aesthetic approach to performance.

Lavinia and Marcelo met in a milonga in Kanata, where their shared passion for tango led them to begin working together as a duo. Their artistic vision is to create a full theatrical tango concert of approximately twenty songs, blending solo and duo performances, where music, voice, and dramatic interpretation converge.
