Artists:   Hyensun KO (South Korea), Moise Yanga (Democratic Republic of Congo), Nasim Esmailpoor (Iran), Aymara Alvarado (Mexico), and An Nguyen (Vietnam).

Multidisciplinary Showcase

We have an exciting lineup of local artists and artists groups: Randy Kakegamick (Ojibway Cree), Colores Andinos (Latin America), Oto-Wa Taiko (Japan), Kingh509 (Canada), Khaleefa “Apollo the Child” Hamdan (Canada).

Khaleefa ‘Apollo the Child’ Hamdan is a spoken word poet, hip hop artist, former radio host, youth worker and is the former co director of the Urban Legends Poetry Collective.

Colores Andinos is an original musical exploration into Latin-Andean fusion. Its members come originally from Chile, Ecuador, El Salvador, Peru and Canada.

Oto-Wa Taiko

Oto-Wa Taiko

Oto-Wa Taiko was formed by members of the Ottawa Japanese Community Association in 1989. After gathering several interested members of the community, a group was formed that fall. For the first two years, the group didn’t have any drums and had to practice on car tires which is also common for beginners in Japan.

Aymara Alvarado Lang

Aymara Alvarado Lang

Coming from a lineage of artists that took her to the Real Academia de San Carlos in Mexico City, Aymara Alvarado Sánchez is recognized for her versatility in the fields of visual arts, performance and musical improvisation.

Moise Yanga

Moise Yanga

Born in 1998 in Mbuji Mayi, Moïse Tshabola Yanga grew up in the city of Kinshasa (Democratic Republic of Congo). In 2017, he obtained a DEC in multidisciplinary plastic arts at the Institute of Fine Arts.

An Nguyen

An Nguyen is a Vietnamese artist, educator and community builder who specializes in acrylic paintings and curating/managing art events.

Randy Kakegamick

I am an Ojibway Cree born and raised in Ottawa Ontario. I am a father and grandfather. Both my parents are survivors of residential school here in Canada. My late father is from North Spirit Lake Ontario and my mom is from Waswanipi Quebec.
