Alea de Castro

Alea is the Co-founder and Artistic Director of Moov Ottawa Dance. As her practice expanded, underground culture, particularly House dance within New York City club spaces deepened her relationship to dance. Waacking introduced disco and funk as expressive tools rooted in musicality, storytelling, and emotional vulnerability. While these forms entered her life at different moments, each continues to shape how she hears music and approaches choreography, performance, and her creative process.
