Iyore Edegbe

Filmmaker

Iyore Edegbe is a Nigerian-Canadian filmmaker and multidisciplinary artist based in Ottawa. Her work explores themes of migration, displacement, identity, and survival, often drawing from lived experience and family history. Working across film, installation, and archival-based practices, Edegbe is interested in how personal memory intersects with institutional systems such as immigration, bureaucracy, and nationhood.

Edegbe is the founder of Yellow Flower Films Inc., through which she recently wrote, directed, and produced her debut feature film All Our Eggs in One Basket. The film is a semi-autobiographical narrative inspired by her family’s refugee journey and the long-term psychological and emotional impact of navigating Canada’s immigration system. Her practice extends beyond traditional cinema, treating film not only as a storytelling medium but as an evolving archive that can live within gallery and exhibition spaces.
