Visual Arts Exhibition Vernissage

Artists: Teanna Chase ( Indo- and Afro-Caribbean roots), Aurora Finkle (Plains Cree from Peepeekisis First Nation)Wayne McKenzie (Algonquin/Cree), Saivani Sanassy (Mauritian Canadian).

Day 2:

Multidisciplinary Showcase

We have an exciting lineup of local artists and artists groups: Ras Turbz (Bajan), Ash Ravens (Bangladesh), Kathryn Patricia Cobbler (Canadian), Luciano L (Brazil), Aurora Finkle (Plains Cree from Peepeekisis First Nation) and Katayoun Malekmotiee (Iran).

Aurora Finkle is a singer, songwriter, visual artist, and indigenous craftsperson. She is Plains Cree from Peepeekisis First Nation and spent her early schooling years attending Quinte Mohawk School on Tyendinaga. She is a traditional hand drum maker as well as an award-winning contemporary pianist.

Teanna Chase

Teanna Chase

Teanna Chase is a mixed-media artist based in Ottawa, Canada. Though she has an affinity for watercolour, her work also features acrylic, ink, and oil pastels. An avid block-printer on the side, she draws on her Indo- and Afro-Caribbean roots with various textiles and designs.
